If you do a lot of reading on health (like I do) you will run across recommendations to chew each bite 50 times, 80 times or even 100 times. 

30 chews is a moderate number, but probably more than you are doing right now.  To prevent jaw fatigue you may need to start by chewing each bite 10, 15, or 20 times and work up to 30 times in a few days or a week.  You also might start by chewing 30 times at only one meal a day and work up to all three meals. 

You will be amazed at how much more you enjoy your food when you actually chew it!
